Synergy Awards Presented

In an April 17 ceremony, ECU Chancellor Steve Ballard announced the 2006 winners of the annual Chancellor’s Synergy Awards and the Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence.

The Chancellor’s Synergy Awards recognize groups of employees who combine their talents to produce outcomes that would not be possible without a collaborative effort.

The winning teams were the Steam Team, for implementing an alternative solution to maintenance, repair and operation of the main campus steam distribution system; the Pharmacy Team, for critical changes to the ECU pharmacy system; the Katrina Desks Team, for donation and delivery of 650 surplus desks to schools affected by hurricane Katrina; the Give & Go Project Team, for collection and distribution of unwanted items to non-profit agencies; and the True Colors Team, for certified training workshops.

Steam Team members are Kelton Moore, Dale Parker, Thomas Santana, Dennis Parker, Neal Thomas, Andre Carmon, Joel Crisco, Elliot Jones, Del Kingsland, and Randy Martin. The Pharmacy Team includes Christy Whitley, Barbara Clemons, Edna White, Irene Rwakazina, Jill Hardee, Bill Finch, Lisa O’Neal, Paul Gibbs, Jean Stepps, Shera Edwards, Sherry Moore, Rebecca Warren, Douglas Mills, Leigh Cobb, Ruth Parish and Roy Newton. Members of the Katrina Desks Team are Tim Daughtry, Lucretia Davis, Perry Ennis, Robert Evans, Jeffery Gay, Faye Gilbert, Wayne Legette and Stephen Speight. The Give & Go Team includes Jason Denius, Shawn Moore, Leslie Craigle, Terry Little, Gretchen Brockmann, Christine Winget and Scott Alford.

Members of the True Colors Team are Heather Arrington, Gretchen Brockman, Catrina Davis, Tytisha Davis, Gwen Green, Toya Jacobs, Randalla Jones, Michelle Lieberman, Aaron Lucier, Sue Martin, Bruce Maxwell, Waz Miller, Nancy J. Mize, Maggie Olszewska and Christina Spearman.

The Chancellor also presented Awards of Excellence. Award recipients for 2006 are Gorham Clark (One Card System) for innovation; and for devotion to duty, Perry Ennis (Materials Management), Richard Highsmith (Housekeeping), Garrie Moore (Student Life) and Ruby Whitehurst (Housekeeping).
