Students who stayed at ECU for the Feb. 16 weekend enjoyed a winter treat on Saturday as snow began falling in earnest early in the afternoon. Weather experts predicted snowfall would continue through much of the evening, with an anticipated 2 to 3 inches of snow before the storm pulled off the coast.
Student services such as computer labs, the Student Help Desk and Joyner Library shut down early on Saturday to allow staff members time to make it home before the worst of the storm. Icy roads were predicted for Saturday night and Sunday morning, but temperatures were expected to reach into the 40s on Sunday.
This was the second snowfall on campus in 2013 and the first storm to result in any accumulation.
