About the Office for Equity and Diversity
The Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) provides leadership to the university's efforts to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Office promotes equity in educational opportunity, programming, and employment and promotes and environment of diversity, respect, and inclusion for all members of the university community.
The scope of the Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) encompasses institutional equity and diversity functions and involves education, intervention, compliance, consulting, programming, outreach and assessment. Administrators in this office monitor institutional practices in support of the principles of diversity and equity so that these guiding principles are applied and assessed institutionally on administrative, academic, budgetary and strategic fronts. Programs and services of the office are available to faculty, staff, and students and support a sustained diverse and inclusive learning, living and working environment.
ECU's mission states that the university will serve as a national model for public service and regional transformation by preparing our students to succeed in the global economy and multicultural society and by distinguishing ourselves by the ability to train and prepare leaders.
OED Recent Updates
We have a new feature on our website and a helpful resource to locate all OED information. Our OED Wiki is our information repository for all of our policies, forms and laws. It also houses archived information on our committees, affiliates and news information. A wiki is a website that provides quick information pertaining to a certain subject. We also have a new SharePoint and a new platform to showcase our monthly newsletter.
