Development of RDS

The creation of the Institute for Research in Regional Development (now Regional Development Services) in the early 1960s was the beginning of East Carolina’s systematic approach to responding to specific regional and state needs.

Los Puentes (“Bridges”) is a dual language immersion program designed by ECU faculty for Greene County Schools, where about 20 percent of students are Hispanic.
