Please join us for an interactive three-part workshop series which will examine information literacy, explore what it means in your discipline, and discuss how you can foster students’ critical engagement with information in your assignments and classes.

Learn how to envision and carry out personally meaningful caring for students and become acquainted with research-based tools for enacting engaged professional caring in online courses.
Three training modules about Caring in the Digital World are offered by Professor Kathleen Sitzman, PhD, RN, CNE, ANEF of the ECU College of Nursing and sponsored by the Office for Faculty Excellence.
The two modules "Conveying and Sustaining Caring in Online Classrooms" and "Mindful Communication for Caring Online" address issues related to mindful caring for people who interact with students and colleagues online. The module "Caring Science, Mindful Practice at Work and Beyond" extends the techniques to other situations.
These training modules are FREE and can be completed by anyone who has access to the Internet, anywhere in the world. ACCESS THE TRAINING MODULES.
East Carolina University faculty can access the modules in Cornerstone under Browse for Training > Academic Affairs > Office for Faculty Excellence.
A Certificate of Completion will be sent to participants who submit a Course Reflection Form within the module after content completion.
Completion of a module and submission of a successful DE Reflection Form will qualify for Faculty Development credit as an OFE DE training activity.Download the Caring modules flyer.
