OFE Session Recordings Related to Online Instruction

NOTE: If you are using your viewing as part of your required DE training, please complete and submit an online reflection form. If you have questions about a reflection you have submitted about a recording, please contact Dr. Dorothy Muller at 328-1426.

The completion of six online DE Modules is a requirement for eligibility to teach distance education courses at ECU. (The DELTC approved the addition of an Accessibility module; however, anyone who had already completed the modules in Blackboard prior to their moving to Cornerstone in December 2014 received credit for the new module – only faculty taking the DE Modules in Cornerstone going forward have to take the new module on accessibility.) Once the DE Modules are complete, faculty must complete at least one DE faculty development activity each year to retain eligibility. Some colleges require additional DE faculty development; consult your college.

East Carolina provides opportunities for faculty development through the Office for Faculty Excellence, ITCS, and colleges. The OFE attempts to collect the opportunities to share with faculty. Thanks to the support of faculty, staff, and others, the Office for Faculty Excellence provides many programs each year, including programs appropriate for Faculty Development in Distance Education. With permission, many of the programs are recorded for viewing by faculty at a distance and others unable to attend the sessions face to face. Faculty can view appropriate sessions and complete an online reflection to receive Faculty Development credit.

Below are links to recordings of presentations sponsored by the Office for Faculty Excellence that are relevant for online or distance education instruction. They are grouped thematically.

If you have questions or problems accessing a recording, please call Joyce Newman at 328-5429. Recordings below are grouped according to their topic of theme. If you click on the links in the list below, you can navigate quickly to each group of recordings.
