Welcome to Operation LINK

Operation LINK is an AmeriCorps, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) mentoring program for elementary and middle grades students, with a priority given to serving military youth. Sixty-five mentors and approximately 500 elementary and middle grade students work together to explore STEM concepts using Vex IQ robots.

Members and students, working in teams, build relationships, learn communication skills, and engage in problem-solving activities. Using hands-on experiments, members teach youth how STEM concepts and knowledge are used in both everyday life and the professional world.

Our Goals

  1. Engage military youth in STEM-based activities and community service events that build positive connections with family, school, and community.
  2. Spark the imagination and interest of students to pursue STEM careers.
  3. Improve academic performance and engagement in STEM coursework for students in elementary and middle grades.
