Who We Are
Operation LINK is an AmeriCorps mentoring program to support children of military families in Eastern North Carolina. The goal of the after school program is to reduce those risk factors that may adversely affect children's behaviors and success in school. The program is a military /non-military partnership composed of military family support networks, veteran groups, East Carolina University, community colleges, schools, and Boys & Girls Clubs in Wayne County.
Our program began in the fall of 2013 and since that time, we aspire to expand our membership to 24 half-time members and 150 minimum-time members. Operation LINK personnel will collectively help more than 2000 children succeed in school, academically and socially, over the next calendar year.

Working with Operation LINK helped me gain practical experience in working with youth. I can personally see the beneficial impact a program like LINK has had in Eastern North Carolina communities.
