Each year ECU-AFS organizes and holds an annual meeting and banquet with the primary goal of bringing onto campus alumni and fisheries professionals, and their respected guests, to meet the students, make contacts, and show off their graduate and undergraduate research projects.  The banquet is held the first weekend of December to celebrate the onset of the holiday season.  We had an estimate of 50 attendees. Invited speakers included Anthony Overton (President Elect, Tidewater Chapter) who informed guest of the upcoming Tidewater Meeting in January 2006 and Bob Curry (President Elect, Southern Division) who also spoke about the upcoming Southern Division Meeting in February 2006.  ECU-AFS welcomed Tom Bigford from NOAA as our guest speaker.  His presentation was titled, "Emerging Habitat Issues Affecting Marine Fish."  Overall, the meeting was a success!  We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!  Happy Holidays from ECU-AFS!
