Welcome to the East Carolina University NBS Chapter webpage.

NBS encompasses two organizations: the National Broadcasting Society, which is a student and professional society, open to all who are interested in any aspect of media; and Alpha Epsilon Rho, the honor society within NBS.
Both NBS and AERho share the same purposes:

  • Promoting excellence.
  • Providing opportunities for ethical and responsible leadership.
  • Providing exposure to the "electronic media" industries.
  • Assisting in career preparation.
  • Providing opportunities for and encouraging the development of members through advanced media education programs.
  • Providing opportunities for and encouraging the participation of members in community service projects and activities.
