Philanthropy
The brothers of NC-Sigma dedicate their time and efforts to raise funds that will directly benefit the local community through the Children's Miracle Network. The brothers also volunteer their time at the Pitt County Memorial Hospital, specifically the Children's Hospital. Here we spend time with children who are less fortunate to have people in their lives to give them the time and attention that they need to help recuperate. The Brothers of NC-Sigma visit the hospital multiple times a week throughout the semester.
Beginning with the spring of 2005, the brothers of NC-Sigma will be holding an annual 5K Run/Walk in honor of brother Casey Rogers. Proceeds will be donated to benefit CMN and the children of eastern North Carolina. Combined between the Bounce-A-Thon and the Duck Derby for the 2004-2005 school year the brothers of NC-Sigma raised upwards of $2,200 that went to the CMN presented June 4, 2005. Our 4th annual Basketball Bounce-A-Thon, sponsored by NC-Sigma chapter, will be held in November 2005.
