Shelby and Brooke created the Healthy Smile, Healthy Child project as part of the North Carolina Schweitzer Fellows Program. Each year, the North Carolina Schweitzer Fellows Program selects health profession students to create and implement projects that emulate Dr. Albert Schweitzer 's example of service, and to promote his ethic of Reverence for Life. The projects must aim to help people whose health needs are not being met by the healthcare system in our state.
