The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (OSSR) understands that parental involvement is critical to the success of many students at East Carolina University. We also recognize that college attendance is a period of transition into adult-hood for students as they begin to take more responsibility for their actions and personal success.
It is very important that parents discuss their questions about a conduct issue with their student prior to contacting OSSR. Like most educational records, disciplinary records are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). OSSR cannot discuss student disciplinary situations, conflicts and grievances without explicit written consent of the student. If you have information that would assist us in handling a case, please feel free to contact us.
Please take some time explore this web page. We may have provided answers to the questions you have about out process. We also have links to resources on and off-campus that will help you support your student while attending East Carolina University.
