Welcome to the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at East Carolina University.
The East Carolina University College of Allied Health Sciences Department of Physician Assistant Studies offers a Master of Science degree.
Applications are accepted for admission consideration only from citizens or permanent residents of the United States who are also residents of one of the following states: North Carolina; South Carolina; Georgia; Tennessee; and Virginia. Preference is given to residents of North Carolina.
Candidates must apply to the program only through CASPA at http://www.caspaonline.org/. Candidates must seek admission to the Graduate School only when accepted into the Program. This is the supplemental application for our program listed by CASPA. The form can be completed on line at http://www.ecu.edu/gradschool/. A $60.00 fee is required. CASPA will evaluate transcripts and accept self-reported GRE scores; however, the Graduate School also needs official transcripts from every college attended and official GRE results to include verbal, quantitative and analytical writing scores sent directly to them. They will not accept these items from CASPA. For questions concerning the Graduate School, please contact them and not Physician Assistant Studies. http://www.ecu.edu/gradschool/.
For applicants with English as a second language, the Graduate School requires either the TOEFL or the IELTS. Contact the Graduate School for more information.
CASPA will begin taking applications for fall 2010 in April of 2009. Completed application packets must be received by CASPA no later than October 1, 2009. The Physician Assistant Program will begin reviewing applications and scheduling interviews as soon as the completed applications are received from CASPA. Applicants will be notified by mail when the Program has received the completed CASPA application. Please do not contact the Program regarding application status.

All PA Program prerequisites must be completed by the end of the fall semester of the year prior to the fall of the anticipated year of enrollment. Example: All prerequisites must be completed by the end of fall 2009 for entry in the fall of 2010.
