The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Follow-Up Program is available to special children who receive care as newborns in the Children's Hospital of Eastern North Carolina, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This program is provided as a service to parents and children. The initial follow-up evaluation includes a history, physical examination, and neurological and developmental assessment to show the child's progress. The Neonatal Follow Up Clinic complement services provided by family physicians, other health care and developmental professionals. With the parent's permission, the clinic evaluation results will be typed and mailed to the child's pediatrician, parents and other medical or developmental professionals involved in the child's care.
