Our Vision:
Life of any organism depends on precise communication
between cells. The correct communication between cells is particularly
important during early development, disease, stress and aging.
The main thrust of our research effort is to understand
the processes underlying cell signaling in the nervous system during
neuronal injury and peripheral nerve regeneration.
We investigate therapeutic potential of stem cells in
treating brain and spinal cord injuries and disorders.
We also manipulate the cell signaling using selective
estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) and RNA interference (RNAi) to
promote peripheral nerve regeneration.
