At the national planning conference of the American Planning Association in April 2012 in Los Angeles, Jerry Weitz presented at two sessions. His presentations addressed job sprawl in the United States, 2001-2006 and ethical issues for planning consultants.
The annual Student Planners’ Action Network (SPAN) and Alumni Banquet was held on campus Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Green Room of the Croatan.
The City of Greenville conducted its second annual neighborhood conference, "Imagine! United Neighborhoods," on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Jerry Weitz, program director, addressed the conference on the topic of "context of holistic neighborhoods."
Section 5 of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association held a workshop on campus on February 17, 2012. The urban and regional planning program assisted with facilitating the workshop arrangements on campus.
