Bachelor of Arts (BA, Liberal Arts) in Political Science

General Education Requirement: 42 semester hours, consisting of:

• ENGL 1100 and 1200 (6 hours)
• Natural sciences (8 hours)
• Social sciences (12 hours)
• Humanities and fine arts (10 hours)
• Mathematics (3 hours)
• Health, exercise, and sport science (3 hours)

Foreign Language: 12 semester hours from:

• French
• German
• Latin
• Russian
• Spanish
• Other approved language offerings through level 1004

Requirements in Political Science: 36 semester hours with a minimum of 24 hours selected from courses numbered above 2999. Required courses are to be distributed as follows:

• POLS 1010 - National Government (3 hours)
• POLS 2010 - Introduction to Comparative Government and Politics (3 hours)
• POLS 2020 - Introduction to International Relations (3 hours)
• At least one course in political theory and methodology (selected from POLS 3031, 3370, 4255, 4371, 4373)
