The clinical training program at ECU endorses a scientist –practitioner model with special emphasis on health psychology. Students are taught formulations based on the bio-psycho-social model and receive training in evidence- based practices. The program exposes health psychology students to a variety of different training experiences, providing both individual and group supervision in practicum. Practicum training is well integrated with academic and clinical coursework and sequenced according to individual needs and goals. In addition, brown bags (i.e. Ground Rounds) are scheduled routinely along with periodic specialty workshops by external speakers.
