Health Psychology Doctoral Program Application Procedures

Admission is for full-time graduate study, beginning in the fall semester only. Applications for Fall Admission are now being accepted.

The deadline for applications to all of the concentrations in the Health Psychology Doctoral Program is December 1st.

Step 1

Complete the ECU Graduate School application. A direct link to the Graduate School online application can be found here. For additional information, click here to go to the ECU Graduate School homepage.

When completing the application make sure to note the following:

  • For Application Type select "Doctoral"
  • For First Choice of Study select "Health Psychology PHD"
  • For Concentration select "Clinical Health", "Occupational Health", or "Pediatric School"

Step 2

In a single envelope, gather the following materials:

  1. An official transcript from every college and unviersity you have attended even if it was only for a single course or college credit awarded while you were in high school. Transfer credit posted on the transcript of other institutions is not accepted in lieu of transcripts from the institution attended. An original transcript from each institution is always required. (You may have these sent electronically.)
  2. A completed ECU Statement of Purpose (an editable .rft version can be found here). (You may email this to gradschool@ecu.edu)

Step 3

Access the ECU Graduate Admissions Reference Management Site than can be found here. Using this online system, have three (3) letters of reference (two of which must be from a psychologist) sent to ECU.

***Please note that you will not be able to use this system until after your application fee has been processed (i.e., at least 24 hours).

Step 4

Have your GRE scores sent to ECU. The code for ECU is 5180.

Step 5

Complete the ECU Department of Psychology Supplementary Application which can be found here.
