The Department of Psychology offers Master's degree and Certificate in Advanced Study in School Psychology and a Master's degree in General/Theoretic Psychology with concentrations in academic psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and research psychology.

 

Master's Degree and Certificate in Advanced Study in School Psychology

The MA/CAS program in School Psychology prepares professional school psychologists who work in a competent and creative way with children, parents and educational personnel in the school system and various other settings. The MA/CAS meets the educational requirements for licensure as a school psychologist in North Carolina, for State Board of Psychology licensure in North Carolina as a Psychological Associate, and certification by the National School Psychology Certification Board.

Master's Degree in Psychology, General-Theoretic

Academic Psychology Concentration

The 30-hour Academic concentration (offered only as an online option) is designed for those students who wish to teach psychology at the community college level.

Industrial/Organizational Psychology Concentration

The Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology concentration at East Carolina University trains students to apply scientific solutions to the workplace. The I/O concentration is a 45-semester hour Master's program that provides students with the tools to work in industrial and organizational settings.

Research Psychology Concentration

The Research Concentration is designed for those students who wish to pursue further study at the Ph.D. level and/or to work as research psychologists. It requires the completion of 30 semester hours.
