Steps for applying to the ECU Industrial and Organizational Psychology Master's Degree Program

You must complete the following steps to be considered for acceptance into the I/O graduate program at ECU. Admission is for full-time graduate study, beginning in the fall semester only. Applications for Fall Admission are now being accepted.

The application deadline for the I/O program is February 1st.

Step 1

Complete the ECU Department of Psychology Supplemental Application, which can be found here. This application is a required portion of your application, and if it is not completed, your application may not be reviewed. To complete the application, you will need access to your college transcript(s), GRE scores for every time you have taken it, and an electronic version of your "statement of purpose" so that you can paste it into the application.

If you experience technical problems while completing the application, close down and then reopen your browser, and then click the application link. It should reopen the application on the same page that you closed down the browser. If you have changes or updates after completing the application, e-mail Rachel Baker (bakerr@ecu.edu).

Step 2

Complete the ECU Graduate School application. A direct link to the Graduate School online application can be found here. For additional information, click here to go to the ECU Graduate School homepage. Additional instructions for all of the ECU Graduate School application process can be found here.

The ECU Graduate School application process serves as the means for collecting the following:

  1. Your background information,
  2. the application fee,
  3. two (2) letters of reference in support of your application,
  4. a statement of purpose,
  5. GRE scores,
  6. and transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended.

*Please note, when completing the application make sure to select the following:

  • For Application Type select "Masters"
  • For First Choice of Study select "Psychology-General - MA"
  • For Concentration select "Industrial-Organizational Concentration"

**Please note that transfer credits posted on your transcript - even if only for a single course or college credit awarded while you were in high school - are not accepted in lieu of an official transcript from the institution that awarded the credit.

****Please note that you will not have access to the areas of the Graduate School Application that allow you to upload your statement of purpose and CV or to input the email addresses of those who are writing your letters of reference until your application fee has been processed. Once your fee has been processed those areas will become available for your use and you can complete your application.
