Education:

Ph.D., Developmental Psychology, State University of New York at Stony Brook
B.A., Psychology and Human Development, The University of Kansas

Research Interests:

My area is Developmental Psychology which is the study of normal human development. Most of my research deals with young children. I am interested in the social development of preschoolers and interactions among children in cooperative learning groups, especially in mathematics classes. I am also interested in the development of identity and achievement motivation in college students. The goal of this research is to improve the quality of instruction in my undergraduate Developmental Psychology classes and help students relate the concepts presented in that class to their own developmental processes. Recently, I am involved in assessing the effects of service learning and community service on college students' personal growth and development.
