Clinical and Research Interests: Dr. Wallio's clinical interests are in the areas of adjustment to chronic illness, health behavior change, and appropriateness for and preparation for surgical procedures. She is a licensed psychologist and health service provider in North Carolina. Her research interests relate to health behavior change, the impact of chronic illness on individual and family functioning, and protective factors related to family functioning and parent/child relationships. Dr. Wallio also has experience with grant writing, program evaluation, program technical assistance, and systems development and evaluation in the areas of early childhood education and child abuse and neglect prevention.
