Henry L. Mascarenhas, RN

Gamma Knife Specialist

        Henry Mascarenhas began his career in Canada  as a staff nurse in general surgery. In 1989, he joined PCMH as a staff nurse in the General Surgery and Trauma Unit, where he provided patient care to a variety of general and neurosurgical patients. He advanced to assistant nurse manager in that unit before leaving to join the Stem Cell Transplant Program in 2001. As stem cell transplant nurse coordinator, Mr. Mascarenhas also has worked closely with melanoma and renal cell cancer patients in the Biotherapy Program at Leo Jenkins Cancer Center. An active mentor to both nursing students and staff members throughout his career, Mr. Mascarenhas has earned the respect of patients, peers and physicians alike.

Gamma Knife Experience
        Attended University of Pittsburgh to participate in Principles and Practices of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

Catherine D. Eadus, RN, BSN

        Catherine Eadus serves as a staff nurse at the Gamma Knife Center. She works closely with the Gamma Knife Nurse Specialist to coordinate scheduling, treatment and follow-up care for Gamma Knife patients. She also provides direct patient care during treatment.
        Before joining the Gamma Knife team, Ms. Eadus held a variety of positions as a staff nurse and charge nurse in neurosurgical, orthopedic and general surgical care units at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina; Winterpark Memorial Hospital in Winterpark, Florida and Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina.  Before joining the Gamma Knife team at PCMH, Ms. Eadus was employed as the nursing supervisor at Eastern Neurosurgical and Spine Associates in Greenville.

Gamma Knife Experience
