Serving business, industry, local/state/federal government, individuals, and non-profit organizations, RDS links the 
expertise of its own staff
with those of the university’s faculty and students to address problems in eastern North Carolina.

Capstone Studio
By matching talented students with eligible community organizations, the Capstone Studio allows students a unique and exciting bridge between the classroom and real life work while helping our communities find innovative ways of utilizing landmark buildings in eastern North Carolina.

Center for Survey Research
The Center for Survey Research has the expertise to conduct all types of data collection including focus groups, web-based surveys, mail surveys, telephone surveys, and face-to-face interviews.

ECU Outreach Network (ECU-ON)
The ECU Outreach Network, a division of East Carolina University's Community Engagement, is a team of ECU faculty, staff, and students who work with community organizations to find resources for programs that promote sustainable growth and development in eastern North Carolina, while providing a meaningful educational experience for ECU students.

Entrepreneurial Initiative (EI)
The Entrepreneurial Initiative focuses on fostering entrepreneurship within the university community and eastern North Carolina. A major goal of the initiative is to help regional entrepreneurial companies develop and grow within the region.

Regional Development Institute (RDI)
The Regional Development Institute (RDI) has been providing economic and community development services and conducting applied research in eastern North Carolina since its founding in 1964.

Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC)
The SBTDC is the primary organization through which the state provides business development and technical assistance to the business community.
