Brody School of Medicine
The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is a source
of excellent medical care for citizens of Greenville and eastern North
Carolina. That care is provided in a variety of settings: through School
of Medicine outpatient programs, through inpatient services at Pitt
County Memorial Hospital, the school's affiliated teaching hospital,
and through outreach service to communities in the school's 29-county
catchment area.

Council was formed in 2003 to advise the University on actions that

Outreach Partnerships Center
Community Outreach Partnerships Center (COPC) programs are designed
to help colleges and universities partner with neighborhood organizations
and municipal governments to rebuild communities. Projects focus on
issues such as community organizing, health education, job training,
business promotion, housing, and public safety. Students have an opportunity
to get practical experience working on community issues while neighborhood
residents gain access to the knowledge and resources of colleges and
universities.

Our mission is to meet the region's health and health workforce needs
by providing educational programs in partnership with academic institutions,
health care agencies, and other organizations committed to improving
the health of the people of North Carolina.

Therapy Clinic
The
goal of the clinic is to provide an opportunity for teaching and learning
among professionals and students, and to provide high-quality services
to families, couples, and individuals. By offering direct services to
the public, the clinic helps to bridge the gap between theory and practice
and provides a unique service to the Greenville community and surrounding

mission of the LeRoy T. Walker International
Human Performance Center is to encourage the Olympic ideals of fair
competition through providing scientific assessment services to athletes
and coaches, events that encourage such competition and the sharing
of scientific information.
Legislators' School
for Youth Leadership Development
Operated by the School
of Education, this residential summer program works to enhance leadership
and communication skills, as well as develop conflict resolution
and problem-solving strategies in teenagers.
Mattamuskeet
Field Station
The program for the Mattamuskeet
Field Station is taking a multi-disciplinary approach to studying the
many interrelated facets of our coastal plain -- wetlands, watersheds,
estuaries, and sounds -- and how they affect coastal growth and development.

Carolina Japan Center East
The North Carolina
Japan Center East develops programs that strengthen educational, economic,
and cultural ties between North Carolina and Japan including academic
program support on campus as well as community service projects that
increase understanding about Japan. The Japan Center also assists with
other international community outreach initiatives.

The purpose of Teacher Education at East Carolina University is to prepare professional educators

ECU Outreach Network (ECU-ON)
The ECU Outreach Network
is a volunteer arrangement of faculty and staff from ECU and other UNC
campuses that are leading special expertise to the recovery efforts.
The emphasis of the network is to work primarily with local governments,
providing assistance at no charge.

REAP-Revolving
Education Around Partnerships
REAP
is a developmental daycare program at East Carolina University begun
in 1969 by the Developmental Evaluation Clinic. It was then continued
by the College of Education's Department of Special Education beginning
in 1974. The program serves preschool children with special needs ranging
from two through five years of age.

The Regional Development
Institute (RDI) has been providing economic and community development
services and conducting applied research in eastern North Carolina since
its founding in 1964.

The Center is a substance
abuse prevention/education program that targets adult populations within
the state who have contact with high risk youth and young adults. The
Center strives to develop advocacy through community partnerships and
coalition building by providing a resource center, research assistance,
training, publications and mini-grants.

organization through which the State provides business development and

has as its mission the partnership of educational, research, and service
institutions committed to generating and transmitting knowledge about
Southern coastal culture.
Summer Ventures
Program
The North Carolina
General Assembly enacted legislation in 1984 which created Summer Ventures
in Science and Mathematics. SVSM was conceived as a cost-free
enrichment program for academically motivated high school students potentially
interested in a career in science or mathematics.

The Office of Technology
Transfer is charged with promoting research, scholarship, and economic
development through practical application of university technology and
know-how.
Volunteer and Service-Learning
Center
The Volunteer and Service-Learning Center works to improve the community
and enhance learning opportunities for students through service. Last year (2006-2007), 9,500 ECU students service more than 139,000 hours in the community. Programs include a volunteer clearinghouse,
service-learning coordination, scholarships for service, national days
of service, weekend and weeklong service trips, and the Judy B. Baker
Service Scholars program.
