RDI is working with a faculty member from Planning to assist the community in planning for a new, multi-purpose ampitheatre for performances in the community of Belhaven. The design component includes two existing structures thay may be moved to the site of the proposed new ampitheatre

Economic Development Center in creating a comprehensive system which
will help rural communities develop a range of services for their small
businesses, including education and training opportunities, technical
assistance, access to capital, and business-to-business networking.

Center for Survey Research
is evaluating medical library services based on the needs of eastern
North Carolina medical service providers that utilize the services of
the Laupus Library.

Business and Technology Development Center
The
Eastern Region of SBTDC
is the primary organization through which the state provides business
development and technical assistance to the business community. The
SBTDC is currently
working on a project in this county.
- Storm-Water
Opinion and Awareness Study
ECU's
Center for Survey Research
is working with the North Carolina
Department of Environment and Natural Resources to evaluate public
awareness of storm-water runoff and water quality in regions throughout
North Carolina.
- Team Training Challenge Course
This program, part of Campus Recreation & Wellness, promotes improved teamwork, communication, and cohesion with a variety
of groups including school, church, community, and corporate organizations to assist
in accomplishing organizational goals. Groups participate in a full day (6 to 8 hours) or half-day (2
to 4 hours) program and engage in physically challenging activities
designed to encourage teamwork, communication, expanding limits,
problem solving and leadership.

Ways are collaborating with ECU to discuss and act on opportunities
and projects that can benefit residents of eastern North Carolina.
