- Pitt County Sales Tax Survey
ECU's Center for Survey Research surveyed the voting population of Pitt County regarding awareness and opinions of a proposed local sales tax increase.
- North Carolina STEP (Small Towns Economic Prosperity)
This is a 3-year project involving ECU's RDI and Center for Survey Research in which personnel are working as "coaches" for Swan Quarter, Plymouth, Columbia and Grifton. This is a Small Towns Economic Prosperity (STEP) demonstration project funded by the NC Rural Economic Development Center. The mission of the STEP project is to help small towns find their economic "niches" and develop plans to capitalize on these areas.

Members
of this council advise the University on actions that may impact the
community, work proactively with the University on community initiatives,
and serve as a resource within the community to promote an improved
quality of life for residents.

Regional
Development Services is assisting the N.C.
Rural Economic Development Center in creating a comprehensive system
which will help rural communities develop a range of services for their
small businesses, including education and training opportunities, technical
assistance, access to capital, and business-to-business networking.

Campas Recreation and Wellness, working
collaboratively with the Greenville Parks and Recreation, provides instruction on the game of lacrosse to increase awareness and provide fun activities to encourage youth based activity in the community.

is evaluating medical library services based on the needs of eastern
North Carolina medical service providers that utilize the services of
the Laupus Library.

The
goal of this program is to support programs that raise student achievement
by improving teachers' knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of
American history.

Development Services is providing economic impact projections for
a series of intra-city development projects in the City of Greenville.

Development Services is working with ECU's Department
of Economics to analyze the tax revenue benefit of the Pitt County
Memorial Hospital.

Development Services is assisting the Pitt
County United Way in assessing the needs of Pitt County residents
to gather support for needed programs and services.

is partnering with Pitt Community
College and AMEXCAM to provide GED education in Spanish.

Business and Technology Development Center
The
Eastern Region of SBTDC
is the primary organization through which the state provides business
development and technical assistance to the business community. The
SBTDC is currently
working on a project in this county.
- Storm-Water
Opinion and Awareness Study
ECU's
Center for Survey Research
is working with the North Carolina
Department of Environment and Natural Resources to evaluate public
awareness of storm-water runoff and water quality in regions throughout
North Carolina.
- Team Training Challenge Course
This program, part of Campus Recreation & Wellness, promotes improved teamwork, communication, and cohesion with a variety
of groups including school, church, community, and corporate organizations to assist
in accomplishing organizational goals.
Groups participate in a full day (6 to 8 hours) or half-day (2
to 4 hours) program and engage in physically challenging activities
designed to encourage teamwork, communication, expanding limits,
problem solving and leadership.

Way Partners with Regional Development Services
Eastern
North Carolina United
Ways are collaborating with ECU to discuss and act on opportunities
and projects that can benefit residents of eastern North Carolina.
- YEAH (Year Round Exercise and Health)
The mission of Project YEAH!, sponsored by Campus Recreation and Wellness, is to motivate students to participate in
more physical activity and health related activities both during the
school day and after school hours.
