OUTPATIENT CLINICS

East Carolina University Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician-directed clinics provide initial and follow-up medical and rehabilitative care for patients who will benefit from our services.

  • Adaptive Equipment - evaluation for and prescription of wheelchairs, augmentative communication, orthoses
  • Amputee - fitting of prosthesis, control of phantom limb pain
  • Electrodiagnostic Laboratory - electromyography and nerve conduction studies
  • General Rehabilitation - evaluation and treatment of patients who are deconditioned, or who have cancer, HIV, stroke, musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, and cardiopulmonary disease
  • Medical Acupuncture - clinic available for evaluations of all patients and staffed by a physician acupuncturist (view flyer)
  • Mild Traumatic Brain Injury - adult and pediatric clinics which emphasize evaluation and treatment of cognitive deficits and return to work/school
  • Occupational Injury - functional capacity evaluations, work hardening, pain treatments
  • Occupational Medicine- providing urgent and continuing care, through a full range of occupational medicine services to our hospital employees and community partners
  • Pain Center - injections, medication management, neuropsychological testing, behavioral programs, physical therapy, occupational therapy treatments of pain disorders
  • Pediatric Brain Injury - multidisciplinary clinic
  • Pediatric Rehabilitation - evaluation and management of patients with spinal cord injury, spina bifida, brain injury, amputee, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy
  • Post Polio - specialized clinic
  • Spasticity - nerve blocks or medications to help decrease tone after upper motor neuron lesion such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury or cerebral palsy
  • Spinal Cord Injury - multidisciplinary clinics
  • Spine Clinic - comprehensive treatment of neck and back pain
  • Traumatic Brain Injury - evaluation and treatment of self-care, cognitive, mobility, and vocational issues
