APPPLICATION
PROCEDURE
Applicants for a position in the East Carolina University residency
will be evaluated based on past academic performance and future potential.
In order to accomplish this evaluation, we require the following documents.
We are participating in the ERAS program each year; therefore, these
documents should be submitted electronically.
Application Form - Please complete electronically through ERAS.
Personal Statement - Please provide additional information
to include your reasons for choosing the specialty of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation. Explain any time gaps in educational programs,
outline specific experience in training in BCLS, ACLS, or hospital
work. List awards, memberships, publications, research activities,
outside interests and hobbies. Generally describe your interest in
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Curriculum Vitae - Updated copy of your curriculum vitae
Recent Photograph - Optional but preferred
Dean's Letter
Three letters of recommendation - These letters are to be ORIGINAL
and CURRENT (written within the last six months). If you are currently
in a residency program, one letter of recommendation should be from
your current program director.
Official Medical School Transcript
Applications are reviewed only when complete. Consideration
is given to those applicants who are thorough and prompt in completing
the application process. You will, therefore, benefit by rechecking
with individuals with whom you have requested letters, documents,
etc. Interview appointments will be limited.
