NCEM-ECU Annual Hurricane Workshop

May 22, 2013

Research Poster Presentations

We invite submissions of posters and briefs about research related to hurricane forecasting and preparedness. Research of interest would include climate and weather data, economic and infrastructure impacts of weather events and flooding, severe weather decision-making and preparedness, computer modeling for weather and climate, and information products and instrumentation.

We would like poster or research representatives to be available from 12:00 pm-12:20 pm for Q & A beside their posters.
Posters will be set up in the Murphy Center conference venue and should be submitted to Michelle Covi at 106-RW Rivers Building anytime before May 20.

Handout/ policy briefs should summarize scientific results and provide a paragraph that explains how a practitioner could use the information. These should be no longer than 2 pages so we can copy them as double-sided single sheets. Please e-mail briefs to Michelle at by May 15.

We have the ability to accept a limited number of electronic presentations, such as animated movies or automated slide shows without sound on plasma screens in the meeting room. If you are interested in submitting an electronic presentation, please let us know.

Brochures, newsletters, and other materials may also be provided. We will have a table for these materials at the conference. Please bring these to Michelle Covi at 106-RW Rivers Building by May 20.

If you have any questions, contact Michelle Covi at or 737-1772.
