Menno de Jong, Associate Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands). Professor de Jong's research interests include the methodology of applied communication research (such as usability testing and communication audits), professional communication design processes, and the quality of organizational communication. He is an authority on use of the plus/minus method of document analysis and contextual analysis. His publications have received numerous awards, most recently two Landmark Paper Awards by the IEEE Professional Communication Society. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Washington (2001–2002) and East Carolina University (2007). He serves in the editorial boards of six academic journals and is the editor-in-chief of Technical Communication.
