On June 18 and 24, RENCI at ECU hosted TechMath, a STEM project for students and teachers designed to
teach how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are used in real-life businesses and careers.
On June 27 and 28, Paul Fletcher and the ROVER participated in Amateur Radio Field Day 2009. Local news covered the event.
On June 23, director Tom Allen participated in the NWS Hurricane Conference and gave a presentation
titled "Visualizing Storm Surges." The event was also covered by WCTI News 12.
On May 29, Dr. Donna Kain and Michelle Covi from RENCI at ECU traveled to Nags Head Elementary School to
promote Hurricane Preparedness Week in Dare County.
One of NOAA's two hurricane hunter aircraft visited the Wilmington airport, along with several other emergency agencies,
including the National Weather Service, the Red Cross, and our own RENCI ROVER. The daylong event was open to school children
in the morning, VIPs and the media in the early afternoon, and the general public in the late afternoon.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) recently featured one of RENCI at ECU's visualization projects in their newsletter.

display of technology at "Create the Future: A Community Conversation" presented by College of the Albemarle as part
of the Land of Beginnings Festival at the
Wright Brothers National Park Memorial Pavilion.
