ECU has over 400 enhanced classrooms. Whether you need a classroom, conference room or an auditorium, a variety of technologies can be found in any of these locations.
We have standardized the classroom search to include this equipment:
Microphone for Lecture Capture Microphone used for recording audio
Microphone for Speech Reinforcement Large conference rooms require speech reinforcement so people at all locations can adequately hear each other.
Annotation Device A device with a touchscreen that allows you to type or draw on it – such as a Smartboard or Touchscreen Monitor
Document Camera Real-time image capture devices for displaying an object to an audience. It allows you to also zoom in and out.
DVD/VCR DVD stands for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc – and VCR stands for Videocassette recorder – two types of media that can be played in a classroom
Laptop Connection (bring your own) If you bring your own laptop into a smart classroom, there will be a cable that can be used to project the laptop’s image to the projector.
Flatscreen/Projector Flat panel display used for projection
Lecture Capture Hardware is used to capture the lecturer's voice along with the video of the lecturer, and the output of the projector.
Videoconferencing Two or more locations that interact via two-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously such as a polycom.
Computer in the Room A windows computer that is located in the lectern.
