"Book As Tool" Workshop

Last year the School of Art, hosted a two-part symposium 
of lectures, workshops and discussions celebrating book arts. 
Participating artists were Paulus Berensohn, Ken Botnick, Francoise 
Deschamps, Craig Malmrose, Susanne Martin, Carol Todaro 
and Eileen Wallace. This event was sponsored by the Carol G. 
Belk Visiting Artist Series and the Wellington B. Gray Gallery. 

"Pyrochromatics" Ceramics Workshop

A six day symposium that featured lectures, demonstrations, panel discussions, field trips and two firings was hosted last fall by the School of Art and the W. B. Gallery. In addition to the above, the Greenville Museum of Art sponsored an exhibition of wood-fired ceramics by the artists presenting workshops during the symposium. Visiting artists included: Dan Anderson, Mark Hewett. John Neely, Ben Owen III, USA: Robert Archambeau, Canada: Svend Bayer, England: Seo Eo, Korea: Setsuo Watanabe, Japan: Chester Nealie, Tony Nankervs, Owen Rye, Janet Mansfield, Australia. (The conference was sponsored in part by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.)
