The Leo W. Jenkins Building is home to over 40 graduate students who come from all over the nation including Maryland, New York, Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, Wisconsin, California, Japan and more. The School of Art & Design is located on the main campus of East Carolina University and is two blocks away from downtown Greenville.
The School of Art & Design offers two professional degrees, an MFA in Art and MAEd in Art Education degree. Major concentrations include ceramics, graphic design, illustration, metal design, painting & drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textile design, and wood design. Most students earn their terminal degree in 3 years, a time in which the students master their discipline of choice and are given the opportunity to instruct a class as well as participate in other assistantship duties.
Graduate students take an active part in advancing their knowledge and expertise in their chosen media by leading and attending workshops, presenting their work in conferences, visiting galleries and museums around the country, as well as exhibiting and publishing their own artwork.
