SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN FASHION SHOW
During the 2009-2010 school year the students were given the opportunity to design a line of wearable art. The students were required to have six garments in their line, which had to have a specific theme. Fashion illustrations were required showcasing all the designs. The garments then needed to be constructed with fabrics that the students dyed and printed. The designers were responsible for arranging all the accessories to complete each look as well as finding the models and selecting music to coordinated with the presentation of the line.
In the spring 2010 semester, the textiles area was invited to present this work at the annual fashion show sponsored by the Apparel Merchandising area (AIMO) and held at the Greenville Convention Center. The evening was a great success. Our students along with the students from AIMO put together a wonderful event and we have been invited to participate again next year.
