Student Affairs Executive Council
The Executive Council, under the direction of the Vice Provost, serves Student Affairs as an advisory body for Student Affairs and assists in the planning, implementation, and assessment of policies, programs, and budgets. The Executive Council is comprised of Student Affairs’ senior level administrators.
Assessment Committee
The Committee provides the direction to advance a culture of evidence. Members are trained to provide leadership and guidance on the development of assessment plans to support and enhance Student Affairs program and services. The Committee collaborates with the Office of Institutional Planning, Assessment and research to align Student Affairs outcomes with the mission of East Carolina University. .
Programs and Services Committee
The Committee works to enhance access to high-quality programs and services for a diverse student body to support and enhance their campus experience. Efforts are focused on meeting the need of undergraduate, graduate, distance education, transfer, and students on the Main and Health Sciences Campuses.
Facilities Committee
The Committee is responsible for providing oversight for capital projects as well as the maintenance of existing buildings. This work is aligned with that of the Campus Master Plans.
Finance Committee
The Committee is charged with making recommendations to the Vice Provost regarding asset allocation and for setting guidelines for spending policy in support of short and long-term planning efforts to support Student Affairs goals.
The Communication and Technology Committee
The Committee supports Student Affairs goals by developing and implementing strategies for internal and external communication initiatives using emerging media and for advancing programs and services by exploring innovative ways to use technology.
Staff and Organizational Development Committee
The Committee provides oversight of the Student Affairs Investing in Leadership Program (SAIL) that is designed to provide meaningful professional development opportunities to all Student Affairs staff in support of their professional goals. Committee members partner with University constituents to offer programs and training opportunities in support of student success. This investment in human capital is central to the ECU Student Affairs’ mission.
Program and Services Development
The Committee is responsible for the development of programs and services that result in meaningful learning experiences outside of the classroom in support of the University’s mission. A key aspect of the committee’s work is to ensure that core programs and services align with the values of the institution, contribute to the holistic development of students, meet the needs of all students, and are relevant toward the promotion of student retention.
Student Learning and Development
The Committee’s role is to integrate student learning outcomes into Student Affairs programs and services, as appropriate and to foster academic partnerships, as appropriate. The Committee works in collaboration with the Staff and Organizational Development Committee to ensure that staff members have the knowledge and skills to advance student learning and development.
