Programs and events are designed to educate and engage students on cultural issues, awareness, debate, and understanding. They support an inclusive campus by celebrating differences that include, but are not limited to, age, social and economic status, sexual orientation, educational background, marital status, ethnicity, gender, individual traits, ability, race, cultural heritage, and religious beliefs.
The center features various special programs throughout the academic year. Various authors, lectures, artist, and other personalities are invited to share information, thoughts, and experiences. The center is also instrumental in attracting cultural theatrical and dance performances to the greater Greenville area. Our signature programs consist of a related session series that cover specific topics throughout the semester. The monthly programming calendar coincides more with the cultural awareness theme of the month. All programs are open to the entire university community.
In our quest to increase cultural awareness and understanding on campus we hope to meet students in different stages of development and various venues. We have presented information to prospective students, incoming first year students, classroom settings, student organizations and forums. Additionally, we assess and evaluate each of our programs to gain information about student learning as related to culture. Please visit our testimony page for evaluation feedback from students. We look forward to utilizing online polls and blogs in order to hear from students while providing opportunities for personal growth and development.
