Overview:
Council members are responsible for assisting the LWCC with a variety of fundraising tasks, outreach efforts, program development and overall stewardship of alumni, friends, and all others who support the important work done with their time and financial resources.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Regular attendance at Council Meetings
Active participation on the Council, committees and other initiatives
Attend annually meetings – 2 per year (Fall and Spring)
- Support the LWCC philanthropically consistent with their means
All council members are encouraged to give a minimum of $1000 annually
Solicit prospects when appropriate
Identify potential donors
Take an active role in thanking donors
- Represent the LWCC across the University and throughout the region and state
Be a knowledgeable spokesperson about the LWCC and its programs
Bring feedback about the LWCC to Council and LWCC administrative staff
Link potential volunteers and resources to the LWCC
- Govern through Council action
Work under the established Operational Guidelines for the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center Advisory Council and with input from LWCC administrative staff
Set goals and conduct strategic planning – when needed
Serve on an established Committee
- Attend LWCC Events
During the academic year
Regional events (when applicable)
