Women's Health


Female ECU students may receive a variety of services ECU Student Health Service to assure gynecological and reproductive health. Examinations that are available range from annual recommended exams (breast exam, Pap smear, pelvic exam) to screenings for common gynecological problems and/or infections (including sexually transmitted infections) to more complex diagnostic procedures such as colposcopy. In addition women may receive education and counseling about their specific health care needs. Students who are pregnant may receive , counseling, and information concerning options at our center. Women with prenatal needs may receive referrals to area obstetrician/gynecologists.

Contraceptive options that are available at Student Health Service with a prescription include oral contraceptives, contraceptive patches, the contraceptive ring, and Depot-provera. Our health care providers may also fit for and prescribe the diaphragm.

 

Men's Health


Student Health Service provides a wide range of services for their male patients. Screenings for testicular cancer, common infections or conditions including Sexually Transmitted Infections, education on diet and exercise, and counseling concerning many specific health care needs are all available. Male and female students may purchase from our Pharmacy Department variety of male condoms, and lubricants over-the-counter.
