Welcome to Summer Study Abroad

East Carolina University offers Summer Study Abroad programs in a number of disciplines and to a wide variety of destinations. In the past, faculty have led trips to Italy, Russia, England, France, Australia, Belize, Egypt and Japan.

Faculty design the programs to take advantage of the culture and geography of the given destination. The "classroom" becomes global, and students return with new knowledge and an expanded perspective.

Summer Abroad programs change from year to year, and generally begin taking student applications in the Fall semester. Check this site regularly for information on new programs.

Summer Study Abroad at East Carolina University is committed to providing programs that enrich a student’s endeavors through immersion in other cultures and countries. The Summer Study Abroad program recognizes that international education is an important component of the overall academic experience at East Carolina University, and seeks to provide a channel through which students can gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective and successful global citizens.
