A message from the Chief of Surgical Oncology
Welcome to the ECU Division of Surgical Oncology. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, competent, and compassionate care for patients with cancer in Eastern North Carolina. On this site, you will find a number of resources to assist you in learning about cancer and how the surgical oncologists at East Carolina University’s Leo Jenkins Cancer Center are working with other specialists and utilizing state of the art technology to provide care that equals and, in some cases exceeds, that which is provided in our nation’s most reputed cancer centers.
To the left you will find links to various resources including profiles of our physicians, useful links for patients with cancer, physicians who treat cancer, contact information, directions to our center, a list of current clinical trials available to the patients of LJCC, a mechanism by which your questions can be answered on-line by a qualified board certified physician, a description of our research laboratory and how it is impacting the way physicians across the nation are treating patients with cancer, and a way to make an appointment to see one of our experts.
I speak for all of the members of our division in stating that "we are committed to caring for patients with cancer through expert clinical care, clinical cutting edge, basic science research, and most importantly, a personalized, multidisciplinary approach to every patient who entrusts us with their care". If you have any questions, suggestions or comments that will help us in pursuing our mission – you may contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
