This change in our advertising agreement helps to ensure the proper fit and finishing quality necessary for printed advertisements to hold up to the rigors of a high traffic, mobile environment. Advertising Eligibility

Advertising Agreement (pdf)

To be eligible to advertise with East Carolina University Student Transit Authority (ECUSTA), the following criteria must be met:

  • Advertisements must be from a university-recognized student organization or a university-affiliated group, organization, or department.

  • Advertisements must be in the form of posters, provided to ECUSTA by the advertising organization or its representative no less than five (5) days prior to the initial display date.

  • Organizations wishing to advertise on ECUSTA buses must complete the advertisement agreement and submit it to the ECUSTA Charter/Advertising Manager at least one (1) full week prior to the scheduled initial advertisement display date.

Advertising Policies

  • ECUSTA reserves the right to reject any poster if it is deemed objectionable or misleading. Advertisers are discouraged from using art and words, or making claims that impugn or degrade any sex, religion, race, age, national origin, or color.

  • Posters that proselytize a particular point of view will not be displayed.

  • Posters that advertise the date and location of political, religious, or other meetings may be posted.

  • Computer generated text is highly recommended.

  • Special positioning of posters on a bus or within a specific area inside the bus is not guaranteed.

  • ECUSTA is not responsible for any vandalism of advertising posters or materials.

  • Advertising contracts operate on a 7-day display cycle. Exceptions may be made for public service displays related to public/campus safety only.

  • All advertising space is reserved on a space-available basis. Advertising space on ECUSTA buses is reserved only when payment arrangements are finalized. Public safety announcements relating to an immediate campus community safety issue will be granted priority.

  • Any advertising poster or display not approved by ECUSTA management will be removed immediately.

  • No advertising posters or displays will be saved after the expiration of the advertising contract with ECUSTA.

  • The ECUSTA Charter/Advertising manager will make the final determination regarding the eligibility of the organization to advertise with ECUSTA and will determine whether the advertisement is compliant with ECUSTA policies.

Poster Requirements
