Safety and Training Resources
The ECU Interim Regulation for Youth Programs and Camps requires training for all staff and volunteers that must include, at a minimum, information about responsibilities and expectations; policies, procedures, and enforcement; appropriate crisis/emergency responses; safety and security precautions; confidentiality issues involving youths; mandated reporting; and University responsibility/liability.
The TEDI BEAR Children's Advocacy Center provides the Steward of Children Training that satisfies the University's training requirement. This training for all staff and volunteers of a program/camp will provide participants with information on how to prevent, recognize, and respond to child sexual abuse. This free training requires 2 to 2.5 hours. To schedule a group training of 15 or more, contact Kelly Baxter at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
