Office of Technology Transfer

Invention. Innovation. Commercialization. With its eye on accelerating economic development, the Office of Technology Transfer facilitates the development of products of innovation from the laboratory and the classroom to the marketplace. Established in 1997, OTT serves as an educational resource on intellectual property and licensing matters and manages the University's portfolio of patents and licenses.

The OTT's focus is to:

  • Facilitate the creation of new ideas and products.
  • Form technology partnerships and research collaborations.
  • Pair faculty expertise with existing market needs.
  • Protect and develop faculty intellectual property.
  • Offer guidance to faculty interested in starting their own businesses.
Promoting innovation, enhancing research, and facilitating economic development through protecting and commercializing intellectual property is our mission.
