ATTENTION: City Parking Lots/Spaces Closing This Weekend
We hope everyone is enjoying their Friday so far! You may or may not know about the Alumni 5K race going on this Saturday, but there are a few city parking adjustments being made for the event that our office would like to share with you.
By ordinance, the Greenville Police Department does not enforce city parking on weekends. In order to aid with the race, however, the city will be closing the Chico’s lot and street parking on Reade Street adjacent to Chico’s starting at 3:30a.m Saturday morning. Any vehicles left in these areas will be towed.
The University’s B2 parking lots will not be closed. Our office wanted to inform you of the city’s adjustments, though, so you will not be towed if you are one of those students that do park in their spaces on the weekends. To be on the safe side, our office recommends you move your car from those city areas Friday evening.
In addition to the Alumni 5k race, Pirate Fest will also be going on this busy weekend. Lots of people will be in Uptown Greenville for these events, so please be prepared for expected congestion and delays.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call our office at 328-6294 or the Greenville Police Department at 329-4315.
The city thanks you for your cooperation, and we all hope you enjoy this beautiful weekend coming up!
