William Staub

Mr. Staub is currently pursuing his doctorate of music from Northwestern University where he is a conducting student of Mallory Thompson. He holds a master's degree in conducting from Michigan State University where he was a student of Kevin Sedatole. Mr. Staub received his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University where he studied euphonium with Sam Pilafian and conducting with Gary Hill.
Staub came to ECU from Iowa State University, where he was Assistant Director of Bands. His responsibilities include assisting with the Cyclone Marching Band, directing the Concert Band and Women's Basketball Band, and teaching in the Department of Music.
Staub taught public school in Austin, Texas for a number of years at Grisham Middle School. While there, he co-conducted the Grisham Middle School Symphony Orchestra at their performance at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention.
In 2010, he received an invitation to the second annual West Point Conducting Workshop where he conducted the West Point Band in concert on John Corigliano's Gazebo Dances. In 2007, Mr. Staub received an invitation to the Conductor's Guild first annual Frederick Fennell Memorial Conducting Workshop held at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. In 2011, he was inducted as an honorary member to the Iowa State University chapter of Tau Beta Sigma.
