Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center
Eastern North Carolina looks to the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center for the best cancer treatments available, close to home. Working together, we bring our combined expertise to patients of all ages and with all types of cancers.
Through the Jenkins Cancer Center we provide medical therapies (chemotherapy, nutrition) as well as radiation therapy (including the Gamma Knife) and cancer surgery (surgical oncology).
We offer expert care in breast cancer, cancers of the lung and esophagus, digestive and liver cancers, and endocrine cancers, such as thyroid cancer. Our physicians are aggressively committed to participating in clinical trials, and seek those trials that address the specific needs of our patients. We support basic science research, as well as clinical research into the causes and treatment of cancer.
We are accredited as a teaching hospital cancer program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and our radiation oncology department is certified by the American College of Radiology. We sponsor educational programs for health professionals, patients and the general public and serve as a clearinghouse for resources of all kinds.
